“The Mustang” is the final film in the Living Wild Dinner & Movie series and will be shown on Monday, April 29 at 6 p.m. Roman Coleman, a convict in a rural Nevada prison who struggles to escape his past rediscovers his own humanity in a social rehabilitation program. There he must gentle an especially unbreakable mustang named Marcus. During the program, Roman is helped by a no-nonsense veteran trainer and an outgoing fellow inmate and trick rider. His journey with Marcus inspires a heartfelt connection and challenges him to be a better person. The film is rated R and 96 minutes. A meal and brief audience discussion round out the evening. Library programs are free and open to the public.
The photography exhibit, “Wild and Free: the Mustangs of the McCullough Peaks” is on display at the library until May 24, 2024. The exhibit was organized by FOAL (Friends of a Legacy); the wild horse advocacy organization based in Park County and was developed to educate about the importance of sustaining the herd of wild horses that roam over 120,000 acres of public land in the McCullough Peaks in Park and Big Horn counties.
