An Unusual Journey Book Discussion: The Little Dark One

This fall the library will sponsor a four-book discussion series, An Unusual Journey, that showcases protagonists involved in a variety of physical, cultural and emotional journeys. Barb Baker returns to facilitate discussion. Stop by the library to register and pick up the first book.

On Monday, October 2 “The Little Dark One: the True Story of Switched at Birth” by Shirley Muñoz Newson will be discussed at 6 p.m. Imagine feeling like you never belonged or you didn’t know who you really were. That’s exactly what happened to Shirley Muñoz Newson. Her life was flipped upside down the day before her 43rd birthday on April 7, 2001. The Gillette, Wyoming, woman received the DNA test results that would change her life forever. Everything she thought she knew about herself wasn’t true. Shirley will also present a program at the library on Wednesday, October 11 at 6 p.m.
