The fourth film in the “Favorites” Dinner and Movie series is scheduled for Monday, November 25 at 6 p.m. “True Grit,” the 2010 version features a U.S. Marshal and a 14-year-old girl (Hailee Steinfeld) as they track down her father’s killer with the help of a Texas Ranger. As the three brave dangerous Indian territory, they discover their prey has fallen in with a more-experienced criminal. The film is rated PG-13 and is 110 minutes. A meal will be available.
“Break Every Rule” is Brian Freeman’s latest novel. Tommy Miller is a man with deadly skills – and he is on the run from terrorists and the government who betrayed him. Then his wife and daughter are abducted. He is not the only one with secrets. His wife, Teresa, has been concealing her own dangerous past and as he races to rescue his family, he must peel away the clues Teresa has left behind.

“How Children Grieve: What Adults Miss and What they Can Do to Help” by Corinne Masur is among new non-fiction books along with “Imminent: Inside the Pentagon’s Hunt for UFO’s” by Luis Elizondo and “Drop Acid: the Surprising New Science of Uric Acid – the Key to Losing Wright, Controlling Blood Sugar, and Achieving Extraordinary Health” by Dr. David Perlmutter.
The Lenna Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books, “Kristy and the Walking Disaster” by Ellen T. Crenshaw, “When We Flew Away: a Novel of Anne Frank, Before the Diary” by Alice Hoffman and “The Last Green” by Lane Walker. New picture books and level readers include “Giddy Up, Unicorn” by Dani Gomez, “Noodles on a Bicycle” by Kyo Maclear, “The Crayons Give Thanks” by Drew Daywalt, “Turkey’s Birthday Bash” by Wendi Silvano and “The Quacken” by Justin Colon.
