“@ the Oscars” continues with the film, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” on Monday, March 25 at 6 p.m. Frances McDormand received the Best Actress Award and Sam Newell received the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in this film. A light meal will be available. Library programs are free and open to the public.
“Where the Crawdads Sing” is a novel by new author Delia Owens. Kya Clark has survived years alone in the marsh, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. “Hero Dogs: How a Pack of Rescues, Rejects, and Strays became America’s Greatest Disaster-Search Partners” by Wilma Melville is among new non-fiction along with “The Kansas City Star Quilts Sampler: 60 + Blocks From 1928 to 1961” by Barbara Brackman and “5 Ingredients” Quick & Easy Food” by Jamie Oliver.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior books, “Wagons West” by John Erickson, “The Un-Friendship Bracelet” by Martha Maker and a new series “Shadow Squadron” by Carl Bowen with titles like ”Black Anchor” and “Eagle Down.” Some of the newer easy titles are “A New Friend” by Maggie Testa, “Romeosaurus and Juliet Rex” by Mo O’Hara, “Pups On a Mission” by Lori Froeb and “Chase’s Loose Tooth” by Casey Neumann.
