“Man’s Search for Meaning” by Victor Frankl will be discussed on Monday, February 1 at 6 p.m. This is the first book in a four book series, other titles include: “The Happiness Project,” “The Alchemist” and “The Prophet.” Wayne Deahl returns to lead the discussions. The first of three Reading is Fun (RIF) programs will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 p.m. Reading is Fun is a literacy-based program sponsored by the Friends of the Library with support from NCHS’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Each event includes a program, craft, snack and the opportunity for children to select their own book to keep.

“Healing Traumatized Children: Navigating Recovery for Children with Turbulent Pasts” by Faye L. Hall is among new non-fiction along with “The Vitamix Cookbook: 250 Delicious Whole Food Recipes to Make in Your Blender” by Jodi Berg and “Free-Motion Quilting Idea Book” by Amanda Murphy.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new chapter books, “The Wishing Spell” by Chris Colfer, “Fast Break” by Mike Lupica and “Appleblossom the Possum” by Holly Goldberg Sloan. A few of the new picture books include “Mr. Putter & Tabby Smell the Roses” by Cynthia Rylant, “Little Penguin Gets the Hiccups” by Tadgh Bentley and “The Quilt that Gave a Hug” by Phyllis Kaldenberg.
