“Crash and Burn” is the title of Lisa Gardner’s latest novel. Nicole Frank shouldn’t have survived the car accident much less crawled up a steep ravine… not in the dark… not in the rain… not with her injuries… and flag down help – saying she had to find a little girl. Sergeant Detective Wyatt Foster is frustrated when even a search dog can’t find the child. Then Nicole’s husband informs him that Nicole suffers from a rare brain injury and the police should not trust anything she says. Yet in the past few months, Nicole has suffered more than one accident. In fact it would appear that someone wants her dead.
