Friday, July 12 the library will be hosting the program, “Wyoming Places” at noon. Bring your lunch and learn about the many place names throughout Wyoming. This informative program is presented by the Wyoming Humanities Council as part of the Humanities Forum.
July 18th an afternoon movie will be shown at 1:30 p.m. The library will provide the popcorn, be sure to bring your own drink.
A new novel by Jeannette Walls is “The Silver Star.” In 1970, twelve-year old Bean and her fifteen-year old sister, Liz are left alone with enough money to last a couple of months when their artist mother takes off to ‘find herself.’ When the girls return home from school one day, they find a police car outside the house – they are then shuttled on a bus to Virginia where their uncle Tinsley lives in a decaying mansion that’s been in their mother’s family for years. Bean is settling in when something happens to Liz. The book is also available in CD form and in OneClick Digital.

New non-fiction books are “The Feud: the Hatfields & McCoys, the True Story” by Dean King, “The Guns at Last Light: the War in Western Europe, 1944-1945” by Rick Atkinson and “The China Study Cookbook: Over 120 Whole-Food, Plant-Based Recipes” by Leanne Campbell Disla, PhD.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new junior titles: “Wolf Storm” by Dee Garretson, “Turtle in Paradise” by Jennifer L. Holm and “Zero to Hero” by Henry Winkler. A new picture book is “Because I’m Your Dad” by Ahmet Zappa.
