Library foundations throughout the State of Wyoming have raised 2.3 million dollars collectively for the Wyoming Public Library Endowment Challenge program! Each of the state’s 23 foundations became eligible for $100,000 for their permanent endowment funds and checks were presented by the governor to representatives who were able to attend the ceremony in Cheyenne last week. The legislation for this program was passed by the Legislature in 2008 and signed into law by Governor Freudenthal; in 2009 an increase was approved for the challenge. This has been a remarkable opportunity for foundations to raise permanent funds that will supplement their libraries into perpetuity. On behalf of the Niobrara County Library Foundation please accept our gratitude for the donations that have helped us to participate and succeed in this match program.
