The library will be closed on for Thanksgiving on Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28th. Regular hours resume on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Noon.
The Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas Parade will be held on December 4 at 5 p.m. The NCL Foundation will have free cookies and hot chocolate for everyone in front of the library at 4 p.m. as a way to say thank you to everyone who has supported the library over the year. Be sure to stop by.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts will be available on Friday morning, December 5 at 7:30 a.m. Call or stop by the library to place your orders. Preorders will only be held until 9:30 a.m. Preorders with payment can be picked up any time before 6 p.m. at the library. Proceeds benefit the Wyoming Public Library Endowment Challenge Program.
A new fiction book is “The Lucky One” by Nicholas Sparks. U.S. Marine Logan Thiabult finds a photograph of a smiling young woman half-buried in the dirt during his third tour of duty in Iraq. At base no one claims the photo and he finds himself carrying it in his pocket. When he begins to experience a sudden streak of luck, his best friend, Victor, decides the photo is Thiabult’s lucky charm. Back in the U.S., Thiabult sets out to find the woman that he now feels holds the key to his destiny.

A new young adult book is “Superior Saturday” by Garth Nix.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books “The Diamond of Darkhold” by Jeanne DePrau, “The Quest For the Great White Quail” by John R. Erickson and “Patches” by Ellen Miles. New picture books are: “Gingerbread Friends” by Jan Brett and “In the Night Garden” by Barbara Joose.
“‘Tis the Season” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, December 2 and Thursday, December 4. Storyhour is held each Tuesday and Thursday (except Holidays) from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten throughout the year.
