Cent$sible Nutrition is coming to the library on Wednesday, September 17 at 5:30 p.m. Cost savings and healthy eating are the focus of this monthly four-part Food @ the Library program presented by Cent$ible Nutrition Educator, Shirley Huizenga. If you are planning on attending please give us a call at 334-3490 so that enough food and materials are available. The first session features Fruits and Vegetables.
Writing at the Library will be a three week gathering beginning on Monday, September 22 with local author and publisher, Bev Haynes. The sessions begin at 1:30 and will feature information from basic to bound! Be sure to attend and see where this workshop can take you!
September 24 at 1 p.m. Tyrel Lohr will be on hand for Computers @ the Library: What’s inside? This hour and half session will be repeated in the evening in October. Be sure to bring your questions as time will be allocated for them.
A new fiction book for adults is “Palace Council” by Stephen L. Carter. In the summer of 1952, 20 prominent men gathered at a secret meeting on Martha’s Vineyard and devise a plot to manipulate the President of the United States. Soon after this meeting a body of one of these men is found by Eddie Wesley. Then Eddie’s younger sister mysteriously disappears, and Eddie is pulled into a 20 year search for the truth.

New nonfiction includes “Being with the Dying: Cultivating Compassion and Fearlessness in the Presence of Death” by Joan Halifax and “Know Your Power: a Message to America’s Daughters” by Nancy Pelosi.
New young adult books are “The Dangerous Days of Daniel X” by James Patterson and “Chosen” by P.C. Cast.
The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children’s Library has these new books, “Princess Ellie’s Summer Vacation” by Diane Kimpton, “Pirates in Paradise” by Connie Lee Berry and “The Lying Postman” by Darrel Odgers. New picture books are “Horrible Harry and the Triple Revenge” by Suzie Kline, “One Hen: How One Small Loan Made a Big Difference” by Katie Smith Midway and “Bear Feels Scared” by Karma Wilson.
“Pockets!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 and Thursday, September 18, 2008. Storyhour is held each Tuesday and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. for children ages 3 through kindergarten throughout the year.
