Wednesday, July 11 “Buffalo Bill” Boycott and Dr. Jo will be presenting the musical program, “Along the Oregon Trail” at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Plan to attend this celebration of the 175th anniversary of the Oregon Trail.

Film veteran, Duffy Hudson returns to the library with a portrayal of George Burns on Wednesday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. To know George Burns is to love George Burns, with classic lines such as: “When I was a kid the Dead Sea was only sick.” The cigar, the glasses, the wit and the kind Grandfather-like image he projected in his later years all found a way into our hearts and many of us grew up with George as another member of the family. Previously Hudson has presented Edgar Allen Poe, Albert Einstein, Dr. Seuss, Audie Murphy and Houdini at the library. You won’t want to miss this enactment.

“Send Down the Rain” is Charles Martin’s latest novel. Alice is still recovering from the loss of the family’s beloved waterfront restaurant on Florida’s Gulf Coast when she loses her second husband to a terrifying highway accident. Devastated and losing hope, she shudders to contemplate the future – until a cherished person from the past returns. Joseph, adrift and wounded in both body and spirit from his Vietnam War experiences, returns to his home town to witness the accident that launches a bittersweet reunion with his childhood sweetheart.

Other new fiction books “Warlight” by Michael Ondaatje, “Room on the Porch Swing” by Amy Clipston, “Better Off Read” by Nora Page, “Seven for Vengeance” by James Keene, “The Queen of Sorrow” by Sarah Beth Durst, “The Forbidden City” by Deborah A. Wolf, “The Outsider” by Stephen King, “Together Forever” by Jody Hedlund and “Smooth-Talking Cowboy” by Maisey Yates. A new title for the young adult is “The Disappearance of Sloan Sullivan” by Gia Cribbs.

A variety of new non-fiction titles are available: “Trumped Up and Dumbed Down in the U.S.A.: America at Risk” by Wyoming author, Dave Ferrari, “Spirit Clans: Native Wisdom for Personal Power and Guidance” by David Carson and “Cold Case: Billy the Kid: Investigating History’s Mysteries” by W.C. Jameson.
