Have you ordered your Krispy Kreme Doughnuts? Call the library today at 334-3490 or stop by! Glazed doughnuts are $8 and frosted are $9 and they will be available to pick up on Thursday, May 3 beginning at 7:30 a.m.


The library has several digital libraries that are open 24/7 and are free to use with your library card and PIN. Check out these apps for your tablets and mobile devices: Overdrive Media Console or Libby (for ebooks, audiobooks and streaming movies), Hoopla (movies, television, audiobooks, ebooks, music and comics), RBDigital, formerly OneClickDigital (audiobooks and digital magazines) and 3M Cloud Library (ebooks and audiobooks). Don’t have a library card? Stop in with proof of address!


Copies of the dvd, “Dell and the Yellow Hotel” are available to check out at the library.


Monday, April 30, “His Girl Friday” will be shown as the last film in the dinner & movies series at 6 p.m. Discussion will be facilitated by Deane Tucker, PhD Chadron State College and a light meal will be available. Library programs are free and open to the public.


The library is pleased to have Willie LeClair return for a program on Tuesday, May 1 at 6 p.m. LeClair walks both worlds as an American Indian and an American Cowboy and has performed and lectured throughout the United States. Mark your calendar now to attend this program.


“The Family Next Door” is Sally Hepworth’s newest novel. Essie’s life looks idyllic: a loving husband, a beautiful house in a good neighborhood and a nearby mother who dotes on her grandchildren. Then Isabelle moves in next door. She’s single, renting instead of owning, and she seems to find Essie fascinating. It soon becomes clear the Isabelle’s choice of neighborhood was no accident and that her presence threatens to bring shocking secrets to light.


“Agent in Place” by Mark Greaney is among several new fiction books, including: “The Valley Ranch Wars” by J.R. Terrall, “A Passionate Hope: Hannah’s Story” by Jill Eileen Smith, “Fade to Black” by David Rosenfelt, “The Third Victim” by Phillip Margolin, “Sunburn” by Laura Lippman, “The Bags of Tricks Affair” by Bill Pronzini, “The Bishop’s Pawn” by Steve Berry and “A Dangerous Game” by Heather Graham. “Children of Blood and Bone” by Tomi Adeyemi and “Everlife” by Gena Showalter are among new YA titles.


New non-fiction books include “Jackie, Janet, and Lee: the Secret lives of Janet Achincloss and Her Daughters, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Lee Radziwill” by J. Randy Taraborrelli, “Roaming the Wild: Portraits of Wyoming” by Grover Ratliff and Mark Hyman’s newest, “Food: What the Heck Should I Eat.


The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books “Luciana” by Erin Teagan, “Avalanche” by Terry Lynn Johnson and “Just Add Magic” by Cindy Callaghan. A few of the newer easy titles include “This is Black Panther” by Alexandra West, “The Book About Nothing” by Mike Bender and “The Forever Tree” by Tereasa Surratt.


“A Barrel of Monkeys!” is the theme for Storyhour on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Storyhour is held from 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday throughout the year. Call 334-3274 anytime to hear a recorded story. Dial-A-Story is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
