Be sure to stop by the library on Saturday, June 24. The Friends of the Library will be holding their Annual Book Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Ice Cream Social from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds help provide programming and materials to the library throughout the year.

Are you traveling this summer? Consider checking out audio books for your trip. The library has a large selection of books on CD that can be checked out for two weeks; you can also download free audio books through the library’s digital libraries: OneClick Digital, Hoopla, the Virtual Library (Overdrive) and the 3M Cloud Library. Your library card number and PIN will give you access.

John Sandford’s latest novel is “Golden Prey.” Lucas Davenport is no longer working for Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. He’s gone over to the U.S. Marshal’s service where he can pick his own cases wherever they lead him – and this case has led him into real trouble. Neither the cartel killers nor the holdup man give a damn about what he’s done before – now he’s just another target. “Golden Prey” is also available on CD.

Other new fiction books are “Monahan’s Massacre” by William W. Johnstone, “You’ll Think of Me” by Robin Lee Hatcher, “Slow Burn Cowboy” by Maisey Yates, “The Fallen” by Eric Van Lustbuster, “Fallout” by Sara Paretsky, “The Stars Are Fire” by Anita Shreve, “Heat Storm” by Richard Castle, “Against All Odds” by Danielle Steel and “High Stakes” by Fern Michaels. “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” by Newt Scamander is among new YA books.

New non-fiction titles are “Old School: Life in the Sane Lane” by Bill O’Reilly, “Thunder in the Mountains: Chief Joseph, Oliver Otis Howard, and the Nez Perce War” by Daniel J. Sharfstein and “Hashimoto’s Protocol: a 90-Day Plan for Reversing Thyroid Symptoms and Getting Your Life Back” by Izabella Wentz.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books, “A Whisper of Horses” by Zillah Bethell, “Recipe for Trouble” by Sheryl Berk and “Power of the Fire Dragon” by Tracey West. A few of the new easy titles are “You Don’t Want a Unicorn” by Ame Dyckman, “Noodleheads See the Future” by Tedd Arnold and “Shake a Leg, Egg!” by Kurt Cyrus.
