"Trolls" will be shown at the library on Friday, February 17 at 1:45 p.m. The film is rated PG and is 92 minutes. The library provides the popcorn; please bring your own drink.

The library will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2017 in honor of President's Day. Regular hours will resume at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21.

Three separate but parallel stories of the U.S mortgage housing crisis of 2005 are told in the film, "The Big Short" which will be shown as part of the "In Crisis" dinner and movies series on Monday, February 27 at 6 p.m. at the library. A light meal will be available and Deane Tucker returns to facilitate the discussion. Library programs are free and open to the public.

Niobrara County Library card holders have access to a database of blank and completed legal forms that are professionally created, Wyoming-specific and continually updated. The database covers subjects such as bankruptcy, wills & trusts, divorce, power of attorney, real estate, taxation and landlord/tenant law. "Legal Forms" is provided by the Niobrara County Library Foundation and is available by going to our homepage and clicking on the "Legal Forms" icon. Your library card number and PIN will give you access.

A new fantasy novel is "Silver on the Road" by Laura Anne Gilman. Back East they claim the so-called Devil's West is overrun by magic, magicians, and monsters, but to Isobel it's home. She grew up in a saloon, trained to serve drinks, fold laundry, to read those who came to the gambling tables and report to her boss what she sees. When she becomes of age, she's given a choice - now the Territory's Left Hand, Isobel takes to the road, accompanied by the laconic rider, Gabriel, who will teach her about the Territory - its people and its laws, but she needs to learn quickly – the bones of the earth are cracking and the Hand has work to do. The sequel, "The Cold Eye" is also available to check out.

Other new fiction books are "Easy Pickings" by Richard S. Wheeler, "The Sleeping Beauty Killer" by Mary Higgins Clark, "Ghosts of War" by Brad Taylor, "Feverborn" by Karen Marie Moning, "Wild Rider" by Max McCoy," Island of Glass" by Nora Roberts, "Curtain of Death" by W.E.B. Griffith, and "At Fairfield Orchard" by Emma Cane. New titles for the young adult are "Turncoat's Gambit" by Andrea Cremer and "Elite" by Mercedes Lackey.

"Blood, Water, Wind, and Stone: an Anthology of Wyoming Writers" edited by Lori Howe and "Awaken Your Indigo Power: Harness Your Passion, Fulfill Your Purpose, and Activate Your Innate Spiritual Gifts" by Doreen Virtue are among new non-fiction titles.

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior books, "The Case of the Secret Tunnel" by Holly Webb, "Winter Turning" by Tui T. Sutherland and "The Littlest Bigfoot" by Jennifer Weiner. A few of the newer easy titles are "Fox and the Jumping Contest" by Corey R. Tabor, "Would You Rather Be a Princess or a Dragon?" by Barney Saltzberg and "This is a Serious Book" by Jodie Parachini.
