Barbara Kingsolver’s new book is “Flight Behavior.” Dellarobia Turnbow is a restless farm wife who gave up her own plans when she became pregnant at 17; after a decade of domestic disharmony, she starts an affair. As she hikes up a mountain road behind her house to a secret tryst, she encounters a shocking sight: a silent, forested valley filled with what looks like a lake of fire. What she understands as a cautionary miracle sparks a raft of other explanations from scientists, religious leaders, and the media which sends her in a flight toward a truth that could undo all she has ever believed.

Other new fiction books are “Delusion in Death” by J.D. Robb, “An Irish Country Wedding” by Patrick Taylor, “How I Came to Sparkle Again” by Kaya McLaren, “The Racketeer” by John Grisham, “Last Scene Alive” by Charlaine Harris, “The Panther” by Nelson DeMille, “Daughter of Light” by V.C. Andrews and “The Sanctuary” by Ted Dekker. New titles on the YA shelf include: “Zeugloden: the True Adventures of Kathleen Perkins, Cryptozoologist” by James P. Blaylock and “The Hunters: Phantom” by L. J. Smith.

New non-fiction books are “Things That Matter” by Nate Berkus, “Viper Pilot: a Memoir of Air Combat” by Dan Hampton and “Chronotheraphy: Resetting Your Inner Clock to Boost Mood, Alertness, and Quality Sleep” by Michael Terman, PhD,

The Lennea Lewis Slagle Children's Library has these new junior titles “Mr. Terupt Falls Again” by Rob Buyea, “Sophie’s War” by Avi and “Safekeeping” by Karen Hesse. Some new easy books are “The Story of Jack Frost” by Farrah McDoogle, “The Berenstain Bears' Old Fashion Christmas” by Jan Berenstain and “Nightsong” by Ari Berk.
