David E. Butler
Memorial services for David Edwin Butler, 66, will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 9, 1998, at the Congregational Church in Lusk with the Rev. Don Chanslor officiating. Mr. Butler, eldest son of Bud D. Butler and Iva Roby Butler died at his home in the early morning of Dec. 31, 1997.
David was born and raised in Lusk. After graduating from Niobrara County High School in 1949, he served three years in the National Guard and four years in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He later graduated from the University of Wyoming and obtained degrees in accounting and business administration. In 1963, David began his 20 year career with Texaco, Inc. in Denver, Colo. as a landman where he moved through the Lusk area where he provided services as an independent petroleum land consultant. David was a collector of antique clocks and metal toys. He enjoyed working with plants and flowers, and he always provided seeds for the neighborhood birds and squirrels throughout the seasons.
He is survived by his mother, Iva Butler of Lusk; one sister, Berdina A. McCabe of Torrington; two brothers, John E. Butler of Tucson, Ariz. and R. Alan Butler of Arvada, Colo.; nine nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.
Memorials are to the Lusk Ambulance Fund.
