K. Dean Butler Died April 20
A former Lusk resident who had been active in the mining business for many years, died April 20 in Grand Junction, Colo.
K. Dean Butler Sr., 88, lived in Lusk in the early 50s later moving to Grand Junction. He also lived in Huntington, Ind.; Portland, Ore.; and Helena, Mont., before settling in Grand Junction in 1954.
Butler was a retired road contractor with an interest in banking and he was at one time the president of the Scranton Lead and Zinc Corp in Utah.
He was born June 20, 1889 in Huntington where he spent his childhood and received some of his education. He attended prep school for two years at the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated from Huntington Business College.
He was married to Marjorie Roming Nov. 19, 1927 in Vancouver, Wash.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; daughter, Mrs. John S. Huggler of Duxbury, Mass.; sons, Richard Butler of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Kenneth Butler Jr. of Tokyo, Japan; and four grandchildren.
