WM. J. MCGINNIS DIES TUESDAY AT TORRINGTON
Former Old-Time Resident Succumbs to Illness of Many Months
William McGinnis passed away at the Private hospital in Torrington,Tuesday, July 7, 1925, after an illness of several months.
William McGinnis, more familiarly known as "Bill," grew to manhood in Wyoming. He was born in Omaha, Nebr., September 13, 1870, and three years later came with his parents to this state, locating at Fort Laramie.
He lived in Lusk and vicinity until a few years ago when he moved to the Salt Creek oil fields, where he has since resided.
For the past several weeks he has suffered from heart disease and a complication of diseases which caused his death. He became worse last week and his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Snow of Torrington took him to the hospital at that place where he received the best of care but to no avail.
Funeral services were held here from the Austin, Elquest, Slack undertaking parlors at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon and he was laid to rest beside his mother in the Lusk cemetery.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Snow of Long Beach, Cal., who is spending the summer in Torrington, and two brothers, Jack McGinnis of Midwest and Charley McGinnis of Lusk.
The pall bearers were George Saffel, E. M. Arnold, Ernest Holsapple, Thomas Arnold, D. E. Goddard and Marcus Nelson.
Less than six months after his twin brother was laid away, Jack McGinnis followed him to the grave. Last July, William McGinnis of Casper was laid to rest in the Lusk Cemetery and Friday of last week, Jack McGinnis was laid beside him. McGinnis, 56, was born in Omaha, but spent most of his life in Lusk. He died of stomach cancer.
