Duane LeRov Lull passed away on October 27, 2015 in Surprise, Arizona. Duane was born March 2, 1921 in Albion, Boone, Nebraska. He was the oldest child of LeRoy L. Lull and Anna Clara (Smith) Lull. Duane never married.
Duane spent most of his life in Wyoming, in Upton, the farming/ranching communities of Burge, Van Tassell, & Keeline areas. He attended high school for two years in Torrington and then graduated in 1940 from Manville high School.
Following graduation from high school he enlisted in the National Guard Co. "C" 116th QM Corp in September 1940, and upon mobilization was sent to Fort Lewis, Washington for training. He was discharged on October 14, 1941. On April 25, 1942 he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and was discharged on July 8, 1945. He served in the African and European theaters. He was a mechanic on P-38 Aircraft with the 15th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Following his service in the military he worked for an implement dealer, and a Seismograph Crew as the driller. Later he was a Postal Carrier and a Postal Clerk in Casper before retirement.
Survivors include two half-brothers, Harold Mundschenk and wife Daisy of Sun City West, AZ, Leonard Lull and wife Charlene of Sturgis, SD, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-father, two sisters and 7 brothers.
Private services were held by the VFW at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix on Nov. 13, 2015.
