Death Notice - Eugene
Funeral services for Eugene "Gene" Rogina, 48, of Lusk, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds in Lusk with Pastor Tom Strock of the First Baptist Church officiating. Gene passed away in Lusk on June 9, 2008. A full obituary will follow. Pier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Eugene "Gene" Edward Rogina
Eugene "Gene" Edward Rogina, 48, passed away Monday, June 9, 2008, at his home in Lusk from a heart attack. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds in Lusk with Pastor Tom Strock officiating.
Gene was born to Edward and Selma Rogina in Lusk on June 5, 1960. He received his education from the Lusk schools graduating from Niobrara County High School. He attended college in Torrington and Phoenix, Ariz.
He spent his life-long career in the medical field helping others, as well as being a strong advocate of Help Mate since the beginning of the organization in Lusk.
He was preceded in death by both parents; a sister, Delores Felzien; and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by sister Nina Achenbach of Sultan, Wash.; brother Sonny DeSersa and sisters Arlene Smith and Evie and her husband Monte Gerber of Worland; Kathy Brown of Big Springs, Neb., Liz Ogle of Brush, Colo., Doris Johnson and her husband PeeWee of Meadowdale; and Carrie Kraft and husband Don of Lusk; cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to Help Mate or the Niobrara Health and Life Center.
Pier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
