Service for Charley Ward at Manville Church
Funeral service for Charley Claud Ward was held last Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Peet Mortuary. The service was conducted by the Reverend Lee Williams of the Manville Community Church with burial in the Manville Cemetery.
Mr. Ward, 45, died very suddenly at his home in Manville the evening of August 23.
Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist and accompanied Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Alex Miller in singing "Beyond The Sunset" and "Rock of Ages."
Casket bearers were Allen Heins, Paul Heany, Luther Penfield, Allen Leeling, Richard Hoy and Julius Peterson.
Mr. Ward was born November 29, 1925, to Zeb and Ruth Ward at Craig, Mo. He attended school at the Shaw rural school and Lusk High School. He has worked in and around Lusk and for the last few years has been employed at the O.K. Super Service.
He and Karey DeHaven were married November 29, 1953, and they have made their home in Manville since that time.
Survivors are his wife; two sons by a previous marriage, Alfred Claud, San Clemente, Calif. and Robert Charles, Wall, S.D.; and sons, Wade William and Chris Nolan, and one daughter, Sandra Kay, all of the family home.
Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zeb Ward, Manville; two brothers, Grant of Lance Creek, Fred, Brush, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Raymond (May Ellen) Smith, Hat Creek and one grandson Alfred Charles Ward, San Clemente, Calif. One sister died previously.
