Clinton Walts funeral held here Tuesday
Clinton E. Walts died Jan. 19 in a Scottsbluff hospital from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
The Rev. Frank Bozart officiated at the funeral held at the Peet Mortuary Chapel Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 2:p.m. "Beyond the Sunset" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee" were played.
Pallbearers were Ed Boner, Clifford Ferris, Clifford Blaney, Earl Quigley, Art Vierk and Henry Wasserburger Jr. Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Clinton E. Walts was born June 6, 1909, at Rushville, Neb., the son of Lee and Nancy Green Walts. He was reared and educated in the Rushville area. He came to Wyoming at the age of 24 with his parents and settled on a homestead north of Hat Creek.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1944 he married Minnie Wilemon in Salt Lake City, Utah. After the war the couple returned to the ranch where they lived until they sold it in 1960. They then moved to Lusk where Clinton worked at odd jobs until ill health forced his retirement.
Survivors include his widow, Minnie, one stepdaughter, four step-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren, one sister and six nieces and nephews.
