Final Service For Archie Voorhees Held Here Fri. Funeral services for Archie Byron Vorhees, 80, were held from the Peet Chapel in Lusk Friday afternoon. Mr. Vorhees died November 23 in the Niobrara Memorial Hospital of a heart seizure.
The Rev. C. W. Jervis of the First Baptist Church officiated at the service. Mrs. Lyle Eddy, Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Carl Porter sang, "No Night There" and "Peace in the Valley." Mrs. A. F. DeCastro was organist. Johnny Thon, Pete Germann, Robert Scott, Gene Tyrrel, Clarence Hubbard and Bob Sturtevant were pallbearers.
Mr. Voorhees was born January 28, 1885 at Wessington Springs, S. Dak., to Ezra and Alice Voorhees and spent his boyhood in that area coming to Wyoming in 1913 to file on a homestead south of Lusk. He and Edna Charlotte Rightmire were married in Lusk on September 27, 1916.
In 1927 the family moved to Lusk where they have lived since.
Survivors include his widow of Lusk: two daughters, Mrs. Alice Leimser of Lusk and Mrs. Rosemary Tadewald of Van Tassell; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Smith of Thermopolis; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
