Meda E. Teter
Meda E. Teter, 95, of Hutchinson, Kan., passed away Jan. 2 at the Dillon Living Center in Hutchinson.
She was born Jan. 31, 1909 in Lusk to Robert Otis Bump and Mary Ingeborg Anderson Bump. She graduated from Lusk High School and the University of Wyoming at Laramie.
She taught school in Lusk, worked for the US Dept. of Commerce in Washington, DC and was a cook at Wiley Grade School in Hutchinson for 14 years.
She was a 75-year member of the Myrtle Rebekah Lodge #28, a chartered 70-year member of the Family Community Education Club, Apple Lane Club and Grandma's Club.
On April 24, 1932, she married Chester Ira Teter in Lusk. On April 21, 2002, Mr. Teter passed away.
She is survived by her son Robert M. and wife Bonnie Teter of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, William I. and Yvette Teter of Kenner, La., Beverly Byerly and Isreal Reyes of Wichita, Kans., and great grandchildren, Taylor and Austin Teter of Kenner.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Place of burial was at the Memorial Park Cemetery. In care of Elliot mortuary, memorials may be sent to Gideons International.
