Louise Frieda (Hebner) Snook
Louise Frieda (Hebner) Snook died May 16, 1989, after a lengthy bout with cancer.
She was born Jan. 10, 1920 at Harrison, Neb., to parents Frederick and Catherine Beck Hebner. The family lived on a farm/ranch south of Harrison.
She attended the Summit rural school near her home and in Harrison. Louise graduated from Sioux County High School in Harrison in 1937. She then went to Chadron State Teachers College. She taught in rural schools in the Harrison-Chadron area.
She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Louise was an accomplished seamstress in addition to her many other talents. She worked for many years for the A & W Drive-In in Chadron.
Louise attended the First Congregational Church in Chadron.
On Oct. 28, 1944, she and Frank Snook of Chadron were married. They have since made their home in Chadron. To this union three sons were born - Steven and Eric, both of Chadron, and Jon of Ft. Collins, Colo. Grandchildren are Sarah, Rachael and Kristen.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers William, David and Benjamin Hebner.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, sons, grandchildren, a brother, Dan Hebner of Harrison; sister, Margaret Lewis of Torrington; Rose Lewis of Van Tassell and Katherine Knight of Sacramento, Calif., along with numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
Services were held at the Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 1989.
Memorials to the cancer fund would be equally appreciated.
