Edith Rathbun, a longtime Manville resident, died Tuesday night at the Niobrara County nursing home.
Mrs. Rathbun, 82, was The Herald's Manville correspondent for many years and had resided in the nursing home for the past two years.
Mrs. Rathbun's survivors include three children, Mrs. N. V. Lamb of Torrington, Floyd Rathbun of Basin and Leila Gladson of Manville; 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family would prefer memorials to the Niobrara County nursing home.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peet Mortuary, with burial to follow at Manville Cemetery.

The Rev. Frank Bozart officiated at a Saturday service for Edith Mae Rathbun, longtime Manville resident.
Edna DeCastro was the organist and Wayne King was the soloist. Songs were "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross."
Burial followed at Dellview Cemetery in Manville.
Pallbearers were Raime Fosher, Don Brooks, Edwin Tschacher, Allen Leeling, Cliff Parmely and Alvin Alexander.
Mrs. Rathbun, 82, died last Tuesday night at the Niobrara County nursing home.
A native of Fairbury, Neb., she was the daughter of Leander and Margaret Showalter. She attended school at Endicott, Neb.
She married Arthur H. Rathbun in Fairbury in 1915, and they moved to Dalton, Neb. in 1920. Later they moved to Lodgepole, Neb.
In March, 1929, they came to Manville, where Mrs. Rathbun was active in the Manville Homemakers Club ad Manville Community Church. She worked several years as a cook for the Manville and Niobrara County High School lunch programs.
Mrs. Rathbun also was The Herald's Manville correspondent for many years.
She had been a resident of the nursing home for the last two years.
Mrs. Rathbun is survived by three children, Margaret Mae Lamb of Torrington, Floyd A. of Basin and Leila Marie Gladson of Manville; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965, a daughter in infancy, four brothers, two sisters and two great-grandsons.
The family would prefer memorials to the local nursing home.
Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
