Dale Spencer Henton

Dale Spencer Henton died at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital Tuesday. He was a school board member for nine years and a board member of the Niobrara Electric Association for twelve years.

Funeral services will be conducted this Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Chan Bayne will officiate. Music will be provided by Mrs. Minerva Watson, organist, and Carolyn Hammond and Cindy Mosier will sing "He Touched Me" and "Lord I'm Coming Home."

Pallbearers will be Jack Hammond, Walter Kant, Robert Graves, Elmer Nelson, Linden Nelson and Bill Burt.

Interment will be in the Lusk Cemetery.

Memorials will be given to the Niobrara Nursing Home.

Mr. Henton was born Dec. 30, 1912, at Luverne, Minn., the son of Herbert and Maude Henton. His parents moved to Montana when he was a baby and to Wyoming when he was six. He attended grade school and one year of high school at Glenrock while living at the Big Muddy oil field. They then moved to Lance Creek where Dale completed the second year of high school. He then graduated from Lusk High School.

He attended the University of Wyoming for one year and then returned to work in the Lance Creek oil field and one year in the Big Muddy field.

He was married to Virginia Silvers at Wheatland, Wyo., on July 25, 1935. They returned to Lance Creek where he was employed on drilling rigs. He was employed with the Carter Oil Company for twenty years. He then became an independent oil and gas lease operator until his retirement Oct. 1, 1978.

He is survived by his widow Virginia of Lusk; daughter Mrs. Beverly Williams of Longmont, Colo.; sister Mrs. Ermyl Seitz of Bakersfield, Calif.; two granddaughters, Cindy Williams of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Teri Williams of Longmont, Colo.; and a grandson Stewart Henton of Canoga Park, Calif.

He was preceded in death by a son Richard Dean Henton and brother Russell Henton
