Cynthia B. Giles, "Cindie", 46, died Sept. 1 at the Hospice Home in Casper after a long illness.
Cindie was born and raised in Niobrara County. Her first 13 years were spent on a ranch with her family. She rode the bus to school from the ranch until her family moved into town in 1972. Her father Orval Allen, went to work on the police force while her mother, Beatrice made the home.
Cindie had many friends, many from her high school years, from her work and through her many talents. She was adept at house remodeling projects, furniture upholstering, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and auto repair. She enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, canning and sewing clothes for her friends and family. She even enjoyed playing piano and guitar.
Cindie is survived by five children: Chris Giles of Phoenix, Ariz., Alesia Giles, Destiny Giles, Brandi Giles, and Harley Rose, all of Rawlins. Her father, Orval D. Allen and wife Diana, and an uncle, Berton D. Allen all of Lusk: one brother, Lon Allen and family of Lexington, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her older brother, Eugene, and her mother Beatrice Allen.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Lusk cemetery.
